2007 NNPDF Family Conference:
Thursday, August 16th to Sunday, August 19th
Milwaukee, WI
To help celebration the foundation's 15th Anniversary, the NNPDF Central Office will be co-hosting this years conference along with the family of our newly elected foundation board chair ~ The Barb and Gary Vorpahl Family.
Our conference theme is: "Yesterday~Today~Tomorrow!" and the following Sanskrit Proverb is our inspiration:
Look to this day
For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow merely a vision.
But today, well lived,
Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore, to this day.
Summer in Milwaukee is fabulous and there will be so much to see and do ~ you won't know what to do first!! The conference will be held at the beautiful historic Hilton ~ Milwaukee City Center which is in downtown Milwaukee and just one mile from the lakefront! Lake Michigan that is!!
If you don't find the time to get to the lake ~ that is ok ~ since there is an indoor water park at the Hilton! A beachfront right outside your hotel room door ~ now you can't beat that! (We will be sending out additional hotel booking information and procedures shortly.)
There is a downtown summer trolley that is free to visitors, which you can hop and take down to the lakefront or downtown Milwaukee shopping at the Grand Avenue Mall! The lakefront has a new maritime museum, a fabulous new discovery world museum, a children's museum, summer festival grounds (Irish Fest will be at the lakefront that weekend) and a beautiful park. There are boat tours and fishing trips that you can take on the Lake Michigan or just spend time at the beach.
Everyone must be certain to work in a trip to the outstanding Milwaukee County Zoo! If you prefer baseball the Milwaukee Brewers will be at home that weekend playing at the new Miller Stadium.
Imagine ~ all of these fun filled events coupled with a family support and medical conference agenda that will highlight the important and necessary information that our families have come to count on from the NNPDF. Your Family Conference Committee members are working diligently to create an agenda that will work to best meet the needs of our families and to offer you the network of family support that is so vital to all.
For those wishing to book their flights early you will fly into Milwaukee, Wisconsin (MKE) or if need be to Chicago, Illinois and then a short hop up to Milwaukee. We kick off the weekends activities with a welcome reception on Thursday evening (8/16) and wrap-up the conference with a celebration banquet on Saturday evening (8/18).
The NNPDF has chosen Midwest Airlines as a preferred carrier with a 6%-10% discount for our attendees. If you book 60 days out you will receive a 10% discount ~ within 60 days a 6% discount. It is a great airline with lots of amenities and highly rated to boot.

Our First Time Fund Raiser Contest continues for the 2007 Conference.
The rules are simple:
This must be your first fund raising event for NNPDF
Only events held after June 30, 2007 will be counted
Results and receipts must be turned into the Foundation by July 1, 2007
NNPDF Board members, officers, and their relatives are not eligible
You can hold more than one fund raiser during the year if you wish. Be sure to notify Nadine Hill at the NNPDF Office that you are participating in the First Time Fund Raiser Contest so she can track your results.
The rewards of participating are great (even if you aren't the prize winner):
A sense of accomplishment at doing something you may have thought impossible
Moving the fight against NP forward
The top fund raiser will be recognized at the Family Conference and in the Newsletter
The top fund raiser will receive a special prize (to be announced later)
Everyone participating will be First Timers - so everyone has an equal chance at being the top fund raiser. Whether you raise $50 or $5,000, it all helps in the fight against Niemann-Pick.
